Fall is the time of year I look forward to.  The air’s a little drier and cooler and yes, even in Florida, we celebrate the change of seasons.  I especially love decorating my yard for Fall and this is one of my best ideas because it pulls double duty on the decorating front by taking me into Halloween, in a snap!

First, I place my faux (fake) pumpkins throughout my garden bed, along with these adorable scarecrows. [HELPFUL HINT: If purchasing these fake pumpkins is too costly for you this year, be sure to put them on your shopping list when they are marked down, post-Halloween… that’s how my collection grew!] Of course, you can leave the pumpkins plain, or you can also use them to express a greeting, like “HAPPY FALL”.  Just paint or carve the message across the pumpkins (1 letter on each).

Closer to Halloween, it’s time to sPoOk It uP!  Simply change out your scarecrows for ghosts (or any other large, Halloween characters of your choosing) and your Fall garden becomes an instant Haunted Haven.  Don’t forget to add lighting to illuminate your ghosts at night (not too bright, to maintain the right affect) and create a new, spooky decor!  And consider carving  your address into one of your faux pumpkins, as I did, for a little bit of personalized fun.

P.S.  I found the ghosts at Big Lots last year (and they have them again this season) for only $7.00 each… WOW…

what a bargain!

Enjoy the Creativity!
