Easy FALL Pillows
Written by on Saturday, August 21st, 2010

If you enjoy decorating with seasonal pillows around your home and are having a hard time finding the design or color you’re looking for, here is a creative solution.  Check out the cotton tea towels in the kitchen section of your favorite department store. If you happen to find the perfect print, simply purchase 2 towels, along with a pillow form that is smaller than the towel’s dimensions, and cut them apx. 2” larger (around all 4 sides) than your pillow form.  Sew them (right sides) together leaving an opening so you can turn them right side out.  Insert your pillow form and sew the opening closed and your new pillow is ready to tuck into your favorite chair.

And if you don’t sew, no problem. Simply use iron-on tape to seam your towels together, following the same steps above.

Repurposing Idea: do you have an old throw pillow you were planning to get rid of? Stuff your new pillow cover with it instead!

P.S. There’s another cute idea peeking out in this photo… place your pumpkin or jack-o-lantern inside a wreath (laid horizontally on a table) for an extra pop of fall decor!
